GOAT ISLAND ECO TOURS

Buried beneath tall dunes of seafloor sand, elevated by decades of channel dredging, what remains of Goat Island now serves as the foundation for the spoils of the Port of Morehead City. Today, Goat Island is known for its large, cliff-like sandy slopes, extensive, shell-covered shoreline, large interior ponds, and vibrant ecosystem.

On our Goat Island Eco Tours, we’ll lead you to the island aboard a pedal kayak, to uncover the mineral and organic features of this unique hidden gem at the mouth of Beaufort Inlet. This four-mile pedal tour is paced to allow adventurers of all experience levels ample time to explore the destination and make fun memories!

Goat Island Eco Tours are held every weekend! These tours depart Friday evenings at 5:00pm, Saturday mornings at 9:00am, and Sunday afternoons at 1:00pm, launching from the Trusty Waterfront Booking Station, at 815 Shepard Street, by the Transient Docks in Morehead City.

Experienced Trusty Sail & Paddle staff will be at hand for the duration of the event. All necessary equipment, including a pedal kayak rental, a backup paddle, a personal flotation device, and a professional guide service, are included in the registration fee of $65.

TOMBSTONE POINT TOURS

Tombstone Point is a small cape jutting out from the edge of Fort Macon State Park, guarding the mouth of a narrow, winding creek that meanders through a marsh known to local fishermen as “the maze.” With a beautiful view of Goat Island, Radio Island, Bogue Banks, and Beaufort Inlet, Tombstone Point is a destination well worth the journey to those who rise to the occasion!

Aboard a pedal kayak, your Trusty Sail & Paddle tour guide will lead the way through the maze and out to Tombstone Point! This six-mile pedal tour is great for adventurers seeking a fun and exhilarating journey to the edge of Bogue Sound!

Tombstone Point Tours are held every Saturday at 4:00pm, launching from the Trusty Waterfront Booking Station, at 815 Shepard Street, by the Transient Docks in Morehead City.

Experienced Trusty Sail & Paddle staff will be at hand for the duration of the event. All necessary equipment, including a pedal kayak rental, a backup paddle, a personal flotation device, and a professional guide service, are included in the registration fee of $85.

CAPE LOOKOUT NATIONAL SEASHORE TOURS

The Cape Lookout National Seashore stretches fifty five miles between Beaufort Inlet and the island of Ocracoke, consisting of Cape Lookout, Shackleford Banks, the Core Banks, and more.

This scenic and historic crown jewel of the Crystal Coast region is only accessible by boat. The strong currents, shallow waters, and long distances between the mainland and the islands can present a challenge to those unfamiliar with navigating the Core Sound. But with a Trusty guide, the journey is open to anyone.

Our Lookout Seashore Tours are customized to party size, experience, and schedule. We offer half day and overnight options, with kayak and camping gear available for rent or purchase.

Your experienced and knowledgeable Tour Guide will consult with your party regarding all needs and interests to determine optimal launches, routes, and special considerations to ensure your visit to the Cape Lookout National Seashore is a positive and unforgettable experience!
